asked the Minister of Food what promise he can hold out of food becoming more varied and cheaper so as to decrease the cost of living.

This must depend on our general economic position and in large part upon our ability to send to other countries more of the goods they want from us.

Mr. Hurd

asked the Minister of Food how the prices now being paid to British farmers for the main foods for human consumption and coarse grains compare with the cost of similar imported supplies.
