HC Deb 02 August 1951 vol 491 c258W
Mr. Hollis

asked the Minister of Transport what provisional and what permanent measures he is proposing in order to eliminate the present risk to life at the intersection of the Pensey—Marlborough and the Bath—Marlborough roads opposite Marlborough College.

Mr. Barnes

Recent accidents have appeared to be due mainly to the sharpness of the bend on the trunk road. I propose to improve the signposting on this corner, to provide advance warning signs and to place "Slow" markings on the carriageway at the approaches. I also propose to place additional cat's eye studs on the bend to indicate the alignment of the road. The effect these improvements have will be watched.
