HC Deb 02 August 1951 vol 491 c263W
Mr. Robson-Brown

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether he will arrange for the importation of coke to this country in ample time to assist in ameliorating the fuel shortage this winter.

Mr. P. Noel-Baker

Output of coke has continued to increase, but the industrial and domestic demand has increased even more. I hope that the introduction of improved arrangements will make it possible to secure a more satisfactory system of distributing the available supplies. It is not proposed to import coke from abroad.
