HL Deb 01 August 1951 vol 173 c241WA
LORD KENSWOOD

asked His Majesty's Government if they will state what is the number of beds for the treatment of tuberculosis in Scotland and what increase in number took place between the period January, 1949, and March, 1951.

LORD HADEN-GUEST

At March 31, 1951, there were 5,396 staffed beds available for the treatment of respiratory tuberculosis. This number showed an increase of 689 over the number available at December 31, 1948. I regret that the figure quoted in my reply of July 18 was incorrect.
