HC Deb 26 April 1951 vol 487 c90W
66. Captain Duncan

asked the Minister of Labour whether he has considered that part of the Annual Report of the Scottish Tourist Board and Tourist Association of Scotland for the year 1950 dealing with the Catering Wages Act; and what steps he intends to take the meet the views of the Board.

Mr. Robens

Yes. The matters referred to are, however, for the statutory authorities appointed under the Act. The Licensed Residential Establishment and Licensed Restaurant Wages Board is responsible for matters connected with the existing wage regulation order. I am considering proposals for modification that have been submitted to me.

The question of a separate wages board for Scotland is a matter for the Catering Wages Commission, whose attention has already been directed specially to this point. I understand that representations have recently been made to the Commission by the Scottish Tourist Board.
