§ Mr. A. Lewisasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he has yet decided to make up the pay and salaries of civil servants called up under the Class Z scheme; and to what sections of the employees of the Cable and Wireless undertaking this will apply.
§ Mr. JayCivil servants who are called up for 15 days' training as Class Z reservists will be allowed a measure of paid special leave. Staff called up for longer periods under the plans announced by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister on 29th January will receive balance of civil pay. Arrangements for both categories are being discussed with staff representatives. Questions on the treatment of employees of the Cable and Wireless undertaking should be addressed to my right hon. Friend the Postmaster-General.
