HC Deb 23 April 1951 vol 487 cc23-4W
128. Lieut.-Colonel Boles

asked the Secretary of State for War when he proposes to reply to the letter sent to him from the hon. Member for Wells of 1st December last concerning the case of his constituent Mr. H. C. Collingbourne.

Mr. Strachey

I regret that it has taken some time to investigate afresh this complex case which, as the hon. and gallant Member knows, relates to events alleged to have taken place in Egypt and elsewhere in 1940 and was the subject of much correspondence between 1947 and 1949. I have been anxious to review the matter thoroughly and I hope to reply fully to the hon. and gallant Member in the course of the next few days.
