HC Deb 19 April 1951 vol 486 c182W
77 and 78. Mr. Goronwy Roberts

asked the Minister of Health (1) if he will indicate the steps taken to make Census Forms in the Welsh language available to all those desiring them in Wales, during the recent Census;

(2) if he is aware that during the recent Census, forms in the Welsh language were not available in Caernarvonshire, particularly in the town of Caernarvon and the Nantlle Valley where the population is almost wholly Welsh speaking; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Marquand

Census officers in Wales were supplied with such numbers-of Census forms in Welsh as they considered necessary and with a good reserve as well: a further reserve, available on-demand, was kept at a strategic point. I have no evidence that the supply of these forms was inadequate.
