§ 69. Sir W. Smithersasked the Minister of Transport why more than three months elapsed between the presentation of the recommendation of the Transport Tribunal and the announcement of his decision, as referred to in paragraph 12 of their Annual Report.
§ Mr. BarnesI presume that the hon. Member refers to paragraph 12 of the Annual Report of the Central Transport Consultative Committee for 1950. The period of just under three months which elapsed between the receipt by me of the recommendations of the members of the Transport Tribunal and the announcement of my decision was due to the careful consideration which was given to all aspects of the case, as the Committee themselves say they appreciate.
