Mr. Foot

asked the President of the Board of Trade to state the percentage of our total exports going to the Commonwealth, including Canada, and to the Commonwealth excluding Canada, respectively, in the most recent half-yearly period for which figures are available.

Mr. H. Wilson

47.2 per cent. by value of United Kingdom exports went to the rest of the Commonwealth, including Canada, in the half-year ended 31st December, 1950, and 41.3 per cent. went to the rest of the Commonwealth, excluding Canada, in the same period.

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will state the percentage of our total imports coming from the Commonwealth including Canada and excluding Canada, respectively, in the most recent half-yearly period for which figures are available.

41.6 per cent. of our imports by value come from the Commonwealth, including Canada, in the half-year ended 31st December, 1950, and 34.7 per cent. came from the Commonwealth, excluding Canada, in the same period.
