§ Sir W. Smithersasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will direct that the trading accounts of the Ministries of Food, Supply and the Board of Trade be submitted to the Comptroller and Auditor General within one month after the end of the financial year even though some estimated figures have to be temporarily included.
§ Mr. JayNo. It would be quite impracticable on any basis to submit trading accounts within one month after the end of the financial year. The Departments concerned are hoping, however, with the aid of a reasonable degree of estimation, to submit these accounts not later than 31st August in future years.
