Mr. Baker White

asked the Minister of Health what is the total value of rural water schemes submitted for grants under the Rural Water Supplies and Sewerage Act, 1944; the value of schemes approved but not allowed to proceed; the value of schemes approved and allowed to proceed; and the total value of grants paid out by the Treasury under the Act.

The total value of schemes submitted for grant is £45.7 million; the total value of grant schemes approved is £11.8 million of which all have been allowed to proceed; the total value of grants paid is £1.2 million.
