HC Deb 21 November 1950 vol 481 c31W
102. Mr. M. MacPherson

asked the President of the Board of Trade what is the total amount of steel exported to Canada in 1950 to the latest convenient date; and what are the corresponding figures for 1949.

Mr. Bottomley

I am not quite sure what my hon. Friend would include in the term "steel," but United Kingdom exports to Canada of iron and steel and manufactures thereof (Group IIIC of the Trade Returns) together with axles, tyres and wheels for railway rolling stock (from Group IIIS) were 153,000 tons during January-September, 1950, compared with 62,000 tons for the first nine months of 1949.
