asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty the number of vacancies, the number of candidates, the number who failed in the written examination, the number who failed in the interview and the number appointed as cadets at the recent in the Board of Trade field which have been lifted at various dates since 1st January, 1948. For those commodities shown in the list which are represented in the Board of Trade Wholesale Price Index, the changes in prices from the month before de-control to October last are indicated by the following percentages of the January, 1948 prices:
