§ Mr. Granvilleasked the Minister of Food, in view of the overcrowding of existing plants, if he is now prepared to make arrangements for the provision of an additional sugar beet factory in East Suffolk.
§ Mr. WebbThe British Sugar Corporation has already begun to reconstruct its existing factories. When the work is completed, the capacity is expected to be adequate to handle the crop from the present acreage of sugar beet. If, at any time, a new factory is to be constructed the claims of East Suffolk will, of course, receive full consideration.
