§ 5. Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Minister of Education what statistics are kept showing what facilities exist for the teaching of swimming to pupils of State schools; what proportions of these pupils can and cannot swim, respectively, and at what ages; and how the numbers of such pupils able to swim at such respective ages now compares with those in each of the previous 20 years.
§ Mr. TomlinsonThe information is not available. I am, however, satisfied that, in general, local education authorities take full advantage of the facilities for swimming instruction at public baths and elsewhere.
