HC Deb 04 May 1950 vol 474 cc242-3W
Colonel Gomme-Duncan

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland in how many counties and burghs of Scotland Scots history forms a regular item in the curriculum; and what histories are used for this purpose.

Mr. McNeil

In all education authority areas the history taught in the schools includes that of Scotland. The choice of text-books is left to the education authorities and their teachers, and I am unable without special inquiry to say which are used.
