§ Mr. YoungerIn the speech which he made at the opening of the Sudan Legislative Assembly on 6th March, the Governor-General announced the Sudan Government's intention to amend the204W Second Schedule of the Sudan Ordinance, 1948, in order to allow for more direct elections and to change the method of representation in the Southern Provinces. No legislation to put this proposal into practice has yet been submitted to the Legislative Assembly, and I understand that the Governor-General's Executive Council still has the matter under consideration.
