§ Mr. WebbThe need to limit capital investment makes any extensive programme of building new slaughterhouses out of the question at present, but I am encouraging local authorities to build slaughterhouses in places where present facilities are seriously inadequate and where a new slaughterhouse would obviously fit in with any likely long-term plans.
