§ Mr. Granvilleasked the Minister of Health if he is aware that the conditions under which families are living at Ufford, Suffolk, in temporary accommodation, have not been improved; and what emergency steps he is prepared to take to increase the building of houses in the vicinity in order that these people may be decently housed.
§ Mr. BevanThe standard of accommodation in these hutments is as good as can be provided in such buildings. The erection of houses in the district is primarily a matter for the rural district council. They have already built houses in the Ufford area and will, I am assured, continue to allocate to it as many houses from their total programme as they reasonably can.
