§ 113. Mr. Alportasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what steps he proposes to take to increase the strength of the Colonial Forces in the East and Central African territories; and whether he will state the policy of His Majesty's Government towards them.
§ Mr. CookI assume that the hon. Member is referring to land Forces. The policy of His Majesty's Government is that the Colonial Forces in East and Central Africa should be adequate for the local defence and internal security of those areas. The existing Forces are regarded as adequate for that purpose, and it is not at present intended that they should be increased.
