§ Mr. Jannerasked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that cortisone, the new drug used in the control of rheumatic diseases, has been made available this week for its first widespread distribution to United States hospitals; and whether any action is being contemplated for its use in United Kingdom hospitals.
§ Mr. BevanI am aware that the production of cortisone in the United States has been increased. Clinical trials are being conducted in this country by the Medical Research Council and the results of these trials will determine the conditions for which the drug is made available here.
