§ 82. Mr. Bevinsasked the Minister of Health the amount of the equalisation grants paid to the Durham County 200W Council for 1949–50 and 1950–51; and whether he will consider exercising the powers conferred upon him to reduce such grants by Section (6) of the Local Government Act, 1948.
§ Mr. BevanThe equalisation grant payable to Durham County Council for each of the years 1949–50 and 1950–51 is estimated to be £2,803,509. I have at present no evidence that conditions exist which would justify action under Section 6 of the Act.
