§ Mr. J. GriffithsThe loss on the Mauritius Railway was Rs.1,467,457 for the year 1948–49, which is approximately the same figure as for the preceding year. It is estimated that the loss for the year 1949–50 will be in the neighbourhood of Rs.2 million. The Mauritius railway is owned and managed by the Government of Mauritius.
