§ Mr. Vaughan-Morganasked the Minister of Transport why, in a recent advertisement for appointments as engineer and ship and nautical surveyors, male, in the Marine Survey Service of his Department, an upper age limitation of 42, with extension for regular service in His Majesty's Forces, was imposed; and whether his attention has been drawn to the Minister of Labour's frequent appeals to employers not to impose such upper age limits.
§ Mr. BarnesI have arranged that in future there will be no upper age limit for these posts, but the nature of the work makes it inevitable that younger men are likely to prove more suitable for these posts.
