THE EARL OF MANSFIELD

asked His Majesty's Government whether they will give an assurance that there is no intention on their part, of handing over Bechuanaland, Basutoland, and Swaziland, for incorporation in the Union of South Africa; and if they will give a further assurance that any constitutional change in these territories will be preceded by consultation of the feelings of the population, through their paramount chiefs.
