§ Mr. EdeOver 200 Metropolitan Police vehicles and craft are equipped with two-way radio telephony. During the 12 months ended 31st March, 1950, over 215,000 messages were passed between the information room and vehicles so equipped resulting in over 4,800 arrests by crews of the vehicles and the despatch of police cars to deal with over 12,000 accidents.
