§ 65. Mr. J. Lewisasked the Minister of Food if he is aware that visitors in this country from North America do not stay here as long as they might do if some of the food regulations were not made applicable to them and, in view of the overriding necessity of obtaining dollars, if he will alter the regulations so that the 5s. limit on meals in restaurants shall not apply to those visitors from North America or other hard currency areas who produce their passports and pay for their meals in dollars.
§ Mr. StracheyI think that discrimination of this kind would give rise to great difficulties and would be unlikely to attract tourists.
