Smithersasked the Minister of Food if he is aware that on or about 13th October, a quantity of British-grown pears were shot into a refuse cart at Covent Garden, and that 20 yards away there was a lorry loaded with Dutch and Belgian pears; and what action he proposes to take to stop such waste of home-produced fruit with the resulting frustration and loss to British growers.
