§ 71. Mr. Piratinasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury what are the qualities sought for by the boards of medical schools in determining the suitability for the medical profession; and if he is satisfied that these qualifications, other than scholastic, are such as do not prejudice the acceptance of working-class students.
§ Mr. Glenvil Hall:The selection of candidates is entirely a matter for the authorities concerned and the medical schools are no exception to this general rule. I have no reason to suppose that the basis of selection adopted is in any way prejudicial to students from working class homes.
