§ Mr. W. Fletcherasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what measures have been taken to protect British and Empire shipping proceeding to Shanghai against Chinese Nationalist molestation; and whether adequate forces have been provided to aid such shipping on request.
§ Mr. MayhewTwo frigates are at present maintained off the mouth of the Yangtse to afford assistance to British merchant ships on the high seas and the rest of the naval force on the station is available if required.
