Mr. Skinnardasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what gratuity is payable to unestablished employees of His Majesty's Stationery Office who were over 65 years of age when the gratuity scheme came into operation; and how far it 189W applies to those employees who have sufficient qualifying service but who resign on account of infirmity.

CrippsGratuity at the rate of one week's pay for each year of service is payable to all unestablished staff irrespective of age or Department who satisfy the requirements of the Superannuation Acts. The Superannuation Act, 1949, substituted a qualifying period of seven years for the 15 years previously required of those retiring for infirmity.
