§ Mr. SteeleThe average age of men and women in receipt of contributory old age pensions during 1938 was 71.5 and 71.6 years respectively. The corresponding figures for 1949 are 72.3 and 70.3. During 1938 the average age of men and women in receipt of non-contributory old age pensions was 78.2 and 79.0 years respectively; the corresponding figures for 1949 are 77.6 and 78.3.
