§ Sir Henry Morris-Jonesasked the Minister of Health what are the criteria by which several young physicians in the 11W Liverpool Hospital Region have been graded by staff assessments committees as being of senior hospital medical officer grade; and who considers any appeal made against such decision.
§ Mr. BevanNo general criteria have been laid down; the grading is done by regional hospital boards or boards of governors on the recommendation of a professional advisory committee. A dissatisfied practitioner can complain to the board giving any facts he thinks relevant, and the board will ask the professional reviewing committee to reconsider the case. I am sending the hon. Member a copy of the memorandum issued to boards on this subject.
