§ Mr. Gammansasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what proposals he has for improving the economic position of St. Helena.
Mr. Creech Jones£200,000 has been allocated under the Colonial Development and Welfare Act to finance the ten-year development plan. This will help to increase agricultural production and to develop peasant industries. The rehabilitation of the hemp mills is also in hand.
