§ 73. Mr. Bartlettasked the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that experiments have been made in the United States which have shown that telephone calls can be made on the same wires that carry electric current, and whether he will study the possibilities of thus supplying a telephone service to remote areas in this country.
§ Mr. HobsonThe possibility of providing local telephone service over electricity transmission lines has been under examination for some time, but the scope for its use in this country is limited in view of the high cost of the terminal equipment in relation to the distances to be covered.
