asked the Minister of Food what is the estimated cost, in pence per pound of sugar produced, of the estimated payment of £4,500,000 to the British Sugar Corporation during the present financial year.

Mr. Strachey

The estimated payment of £4,500,000 to the British Sugar Corporation represented 0.84d. per pound of sugar produced.
