§ Sir R. Youngasked the Minister of Health who is responsible for deciding whether an applicant is entitled to have his glasses repaired when accidentally broken; whether they are examined, and by whom; when it is decided they were carelessly broken and consequently cannot be repaired until the appropriate form is filled up; and the cost of repair to be paid by the applicant.
§ Mr. BevanThe ophthalmic services committee of the local Executive Council is responsible for deciding if glasses need repairing as a result of carelessness. If they so decide, the applicant must meet the cost. The full procedure is in the Supplementary Ophthalmic Services Regulations.
