§ Mr. H. WilsonI am afraid that I cannot be more precise in answering the hon. Member's Question than to say that as far as can be judged from the information given to the Board of Trade by the firms concerned, 44 applicants for new Government financed factories in the Development Areas withdrew during the past 12 months, owing to changing economic circumstances of one kind or another. All but 10 of the factories, in respect of which applications were withdrawn, have been re-allocated or have firm applicants in view.
