§ 52. Mr. Goochasked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is aware of the risks to agricultural and horticultural workers arising out of the use of di-nitro-ortav-cresol; and if he will withdraw the exemption from the poison rules which permits the sale of di-nitro-ortav-cresol for use in agriculture and horticulture.
Mr. T. WilliamsPreparations containing this substance are of great value in the control of weeds and certain pests of fruit trees, and I am advised that if reasonable care is taken there is little or no risk to workers using them. Advice on precautions has been given wide publicity by my Department. The poisons rules, made under the Pharmacy and168W Poisons Act, 1933, are the responsibility of my right hon. Friend the Home Secretary.
