§ Mr. Skeffingtonasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he will make a brief statement on the progress of the extensions to the harbour of Mombassu Tanga and Dar-es-Salem.
Mr. Creech JonesNo extensions are in progress at either Mombasa or Tanga. At Dar-es-Salaam the immediate improvements mentioned in my reply to the hon. Member for West Leicester (Mr. Janner) on 26th January are well in hand and the report presented by the Technical Committee in East Africa on the possibility of developing Dar-es-Salaam into a major port is now under consideration by the East Africa High Commission.
