asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, before taking any final decisions about the implementation of the Report of the Resale Price Maintenance Committee, he will initiate an inquiry into the extent to which such implementation would oblige shopkeepers, and especially small shopkeepers, to reduce the wages or number of their assistants.
