§ 50. Mr. Osborneasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is aware that Canadian orders for British goods are being withheld because of the fear of the devaluation of sterling to the detriment of our export trade; and will he consider guaranteeing such orders against devaluation through the Export Guarantee Department at a nominal rate to facilitate trade and to demonstrate that devaluation fears are groundless.
§ Sir S. CrippsI do not think the amount of such abstention is serious and I am not prepared to adopt the suggestion in the second part of the Question.
