Mr. Creech JonesI understand that a new and comprehensive trade unions law, which will repeal the existing trade unions and trade disputes law of 1941, is about to be enacted substantially in the form of a Bill published in the "Cyprus Gazette" of 28th October, 1948. Certain provisions in the 1941 law, relating to illegal strikes and lock-outs and the prevention of intimidation, analogous to those in the repealed United Kingdom Trade Disputes and Trade Unions Act of 1927, are not to be re-enacted.
