HC Deb 02 February 1949 vol 460 c234W
64. Mr. Turton

asked the Minister of Food what quantity of jellied beef was imported from Holland during the calendar year 1948; what price per 1b. has been paid for this jellied beef; and at what price it is being retailed to the public.

Mr. Strachey

200 tons were imported by private traders under licence at an approved c.i.f. value of 2s. 9½d. per 1b. Imported jellied beef is not price-controlled—current retail selling prices vary.
