§ 80. Mr. Odeyasked the Minister of Health by virtue of what statutory obligation the maximum price of a house is 305W revealed to the builder in the course of the issuing of a licence for a privately built house.
§ Mr. BevanThe condition limiting the price must by virtue of the provisions of Section 7 of the Building Materials and Housing Act, 1945, be stated on the licence and must be registered as a local land charge.
96. Mr. Kentonasked the Minister of Health if, in view of the fact that his proposal to curtail the number of houses built under private licence will not achieve any substantial saving in money, materials and labour, or lead to an increase in the number of houses built, he will now reconsider his decision and once more enable local authorities to issue licences for the building of private houses in the proportion of one to four.
§ Mr. BevanI would refer the hon. Member to the reply I gave to my hon. Friend the Member for Stafford (Mr. Swingler) on 1st December, of which 1 am sending him a copy.
