A. Lewis asked the Minister of National Insurance (1) if he will give an estimate of the increase in the weekly National Insurance contribution, payable by each contributor, which would be necessary to cover the total cost of an increase in the old age pension allowance of 5s. per week;
(2) what would be the annual and weekly cost of increasing the old age pension payments by 5s. per week to all old aged pensioners, and to those only in receipt of the basic allowance, without any supplementation.336W
