§ Mr. Platts-Millsasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will make public the terms of the memorial submitted to the Governor of Cyprus by the mayors of the five chief towns of the island; and, in view of the desire of the great majority of the population for union with Greece, if he will now concede the principle of self-determination to this Colony.
Mr. Creech JonesI have not seen the memorial referred to in the first part of the Question, but I understand that it has already been sent to the Press in Cyprus by its authors. As regards the second part of the Question, I have nothing to add to the statement made by the Governor to the Consultative Assembly on 12th August.
