HC Deb 21 September 1948 vol 456 c50W
105. Major Lloyd

asked the Secretary of State for War how many persons are employed in the War Crimes Branch of his Department now and how many were employed at its inception; how many of these are commissioned officers; what is the total cost in salaries and expenses; and what has been the total cost to the Exchequer of war trials to the nearest convenient date.

Mr. Shinwell

Records are not maintained in a form from which all the information asked for can readily be extracted. I am, however, obtaining and will send the hon. and gallant Member such information as can be produced without a disproportionate amount of work.
