(2) if he will give the number of claims his Department has received under the Industrial Injuries Act for industrial diseases from 5th July to 31st August. 1948.
§ Mr. J. GriffithsThe number of claims received under the National Insurance (Industrial Injuries) Act during the period 5th July to 3rd September, 1948, the nearest date for which figures are available, was 97,710, which includes 95,089 claims to injury benefit, 2,433 to disablement benefit, and 188 to death benefit. Cases of industrial diseases are included, but it has not as yet been possible to make arrangements for their number to be separately recorded.
